First United Methodist Church of Harleyville kicked off their summer Vacation Bible School last night and it was truly a BLAST!
There were many children and adults, alike, joining together for a “Polar Blast – Where Jesus’ Love Is Cool” Bible School program last night, July 8, in the church fellowship hall. Everyone enjoyed the puppetry skills of Mrs. Millie Chaplin and her partner in fellowship, Mrs. Judy Rule, as they presented the opening act of the program. The story continues tonight and each evening through Tuesday, July 10, starting at 5:30 p.m. The final night will be a cookout with water slides and activities for the children. All are welcome to come and bring your bathing suits for the water fun.
The evening started with a pizza supper and then the learning began. As the children learned about Jesus’ love through story-telling and crafts, the adults were learning good principles of earning money, saving money and giving money as gifts. I especially enjoyed my time last night and I am so looking forward to attending each night this week. If you live in the Harleyville, S.C., area or are visiting us, won’t you please join us in fellowship and God’s love. Come on, y’all, you’ll have a BLAST.
